 FAQs

  • By incorporating ashes into the glass-making process, you end up with a high end piece of art that's both meaningful and visually alluring.

The process includes carefully assembling the jewellery grade glass with the cremated remains of your loved one and individually firing this combination in the kiln for several hours.

  • Glass jewelry is made by melting and shaping glass, which gives it a distinct, smooth finish and a reflective quality. It tends to be more durable and scratch-resistant. Resin jewellery, on the other hand, involves mixing liquid resin with a hardener to create a solid piece. Resin is lighter and can encapsulate almost any organic material such as hair, fur, breastmilk AND ashes. It’s more versatile in terms of design but can be prone to scratches and discoloration over time.

So, glass is like the diamond of the jewellery world, while resin is more of customizable and affordable.

  • The overall lead time is currently 3 weeks but this can fluctuate dependant on interest, I do offer a fast track service for those who prefer to have their loved ones back with then ASAP.

There is never any cross contamination between inclusions this means that only ONE persons cremated remains will be infused with glass in the kiln at any given time. This is a longer process however I believe that this gives the significant person more dignity and it also helps reassurance my customers who may fear cross-contamination.

  • So the ashes infused glass experience is something truly unique. Each keepsake is handmade from start to finish in my workshop meaning that you will have the opportunity to select some pretty handmade designs, these designs are currently simpler than the resin pieces however I am working on building up a portfolio to display more examples on my website. Currently Glass stones can only be set in Sterling Silver.

  • Infusing ashes into glass and fabricating jewellery is a complex process, that being said I still try to keep the price around the £100 mark, design dependant.

  • This is a really exciting question because with glass, you can choose from nearly 50 colours, shades and hues. Finding a colour you adore and resonate with couldnt be easier.

You will need to contact me prior to ordering so I can send you a FULL colour catelogue.

  • Glass keepsakes are completely made to order therefor there are many possibilities to have something simple but luxurious, BUT, as this is a new concept for Forget-Me-Not Keepsakes, I am only currently offering simpler designs to ensure my lead tmes are as accurate as possible.
