How to package and send your inclusions

Sending Inclusions in the post for jewellery involves a few important steps to ensure they are handled with care and respect:

  1. Packaging: Place a TEASPOON of ashes in a sift-proof container, such as a small tin or ziplock bag, and securely close it. This container should then be placed in a sturdy outer packaging to prevent any damage/leakage during transit. For multiple orders, or a keepsake frame, please enclose a TABLESPOON instead.

For sending Hair or Fur please enclose a small pinch of the inclusion,

For sending Breastmilk, please look at the FAQ’s here

For Clothing keepsakes, please send a 2x2cm cut square of your chosen fabric

For Soil, please follow same instructions above.

  2. Weight Limit: Ensure the total weight of the package does not exceed 50 grams. This is the maximum allowed by postal services for sending cremation ashes.

  3. Labeling: Clearly label the outer packaging with the postal address (SENT AFTER ORDERING) and a return address. This ensures that the package can be returned to you if there are any issues during delivery.

  4. Postal Service: Use a reliable postal service that allows the shipment of cremation ashes. Some services may require you to declare the contents and may offer additional security measures for such sensitive items. There’s sometimes an additional fee for this, however, I reccomend that you declare inclusions as ‘Jewellery making supplies’ so they are not refused by your local post office and you do not receive additional fees.

For UK orders - Please send your inclusions via Royal Mail 24 Tracked OR Guaranteed next day delivery.

For International orders, please send via USPS, DPD or any other reliable courier.

  5. Instructions: Include your FULL NAME and order number within the package, I do really appreciate your handwritten notes and your stories so please feel free to include this also (optional).

  6. Tracking: Consider using a tracked shipping service to ensure you can monitor the package's journey and confirm its safe arrival.

By following these steps, you can safely send cremation ashes for jewellery-making while ensuring they are handled with the care and respect they deserve.

*These instructions also apply to sending inclusions such as Hair, Fur, Soil, Sand and anything else that is going to be used in your keepsakes*
