Values
Everyone is deserving of compassion
At Forget-Me-Not Keepsakes, I pride myself on honesty, transparency and going the extra mile. The consideration and care I offer every single person comes from a place of love and genuine understanding from my own experiences with grief.
After all, following a loss we need people to be gentle to us, we are humans and we do have valid feelings and of course we do deserve to be treated with respect and not just as a ‘paying customer’, I feel so honoured that most of my customers have remained friends for years.
Sustainability, Carbon Footprint, And Impact On the Planet
In 2021, FMNK started with a vision, it wasn’t very…. clear but it was with good intentions. I started trying to make my business fairly eco friendly but with around £1.80 in my pocket this was near impossible to commit to on a regular basis. 3+ years later I have managed to live and learn and be in a position where I can actively contribute my part in saving our planet.
FMNK’s wrapping paper is 100% recyclable and PEFC certified.
ALL postal boxes and packaging are reused to ship keepsakes to their new homes.
Pickup/drop off services are offered to reduce carbon footprints/emmisions.
FMNK supports the local economy and small businesses when buying supplies/tools/equiptment (oh, and coffee from local businesses)
FMNK uses less than 1L of water monthly
All flourescent bulbs in the workshop have been replaced by LED lighting making them 80% more efficient (and cheaper to run)
And this is only continuing to grow…
I’m currently learning how to make my own seed infused cards which will replace my current ‘handwritten thankyou cards’, this means that after you have read my kind words of gratutude, you can tear up the paper and plant in the garden. The paper is made from 100% recycled paper and contains a bunch of native wildflower seeds. Native wildflowers support wildlife, save water, boost soil health, and are beautiful and low-maintenance.
Planting flowers helps with grief by offering a tangible way to connect with life, focus on nurturing growth, symbolically express feelings, create a lasting memorial, and benefit from the soothing presence of nature.
Compliments Where Its Due
Since starting this wonderful journey, I've had the honor of working with some fantastic people and organizations, many of which are local. I've collaborated with charities that support the bereaved and with funeral directors who have believed in me from day one. They've graciously allowed me to display my keepsakes in their premises, giving bereaved families the opportunity to see them up close.
And for that…THANKYOU
